On Friday night, November 4, 2016 Southern Regional High School Athletic Department will honor the senior class members of the Varsity Football, Varsity Cheerleaders and Marching Band members of the 2016-2017 school year.

The ceremony will be before the kickoff vs. Shore Conference“A” South opponent Toms River South High School. We are asking that all Senior parents meet in the West End zone (Scoreboard Side) at 6:30 pm.

Also as a reminder, this game is Southern Regional Military Appreciation Night. On opening night (Friday, September 2nd) of the 2016 season, Central Regional defeated Southern Regional 21-14.

It was a great game and effort by both teams. In keeping tradition between both programs, the schools continued the tradition of the Emmert-Boyd Gridiron Classic (Honoring both legendary coaches from each school) with Game MVP awards. Senior, Denis Corbin from Central and Junior Joe Miele from Southern Regional were named Game MVP's. They are pictured with Central Regional Athletic Director John Scran & Southern Regional Athletic Director Chuck Donohue Jr. Good Luck to both teams the rest of the season.

Congratulations to the Southern Regional football team on their victory over Lacey Twp on Saturday, October 31, 2015 by a score of 14-10.

With the win, the Rams gave Head Coach Chuck Donohue Sr. his 100th career win with Southern Regional Football. The win was Coach Donohue Sr.'s 239 overall career win. He is currently the only High School football coach to lead 4 different schools (St. Joe-Hammonton, Haddon Heights, Buena Regional & Southern Regional) to the NJSIAA South Jersey sectional finals in their respective groups winning Sectional titles in 1977 at St. Joseph-Hammonton (SJ Group B) & in 1988 with Buena Regional (SJ Group II). In his sophomore season Dan broke school game records for: Passing yards with 308, Passing Attempts with 52 and completions with 36. Dan also set a record for longest Touchdown Pass in a game, 95 yards vs. Westfield State University.

Michael is the 2nd male athlete to win the award from Southern Regional along with Muhammad Abdullah, who won the award during the 1997-98 school year. Michael is the 4th athlete from Southern to win the award, along with Danielle Tauro and Jillian Smith who were named Female Athletes of the Year, during their careers at Southern respectively. The Southern Regional Varsity Football team defeated Central Regional in the season finale for both schools on Thanksgiving Day (11/28/13) by a score of 14 to 7.

The Rams win the Boyd-Emmert Trophy for the 2nd season in a row. Both the Rams and the Golden Eagles finish with records of 5 and 5. Congratulations to Southern AYF player Luke Robinson (2nd Grade) who was named the honorary captain for the Southern Varsity Football Team for the Rams opening game vs. Freehold Township on Thursday, September 12, 2013.

On Thursday, September 12, 2013 during halftime of the Varsity Football game vs. Freehold Twp. the Southern Regional School District dedicated the field at Goldberger Memorial Stadium to long time coach/teacher Mr. Ron Emmert.

Mr. Emmert was and continues to be, an instrumental person in the Southern Athletic Program and Southern Community. The Rams defeated the Patriots 26 to 6 on the newly dedicated Ron Emmert Field at Goldberger Memorial Stadium to start the season 1 and 0. It was a Proud Night to be a Southern Ram!

Southern High School Football team started up the 2013 season by holding a practice sponsored by the Southern Youth Football & Cheer on the Doc Cramer Fields, Friday night, August 16th.

The practice was held at the conclusion of the annual Southern Youth Football & Cheer Pep Rally. It was a great turnout by the Southern Community in support of both programs. Southern High School Football kicks off the season on Thursday night, September 12th, home, 6:30pm vs. Freehold Twp. On that night at halftime, Southern Regional will dedicated the Football Field at Goldberger Memorial Stadium to former SRHS Football Coach Ron Emmert. Please come out and support the Rams!

Congratulations to Southern Regional former football coach Ron Emmert & current Southern football coach Chuck Donohue Sr. on being inducted into the Shore Conference Football Hall of Fame.

The two were inducted into the HOF at halftime of the 2013 US Army All Shore game which was held on Thursday night, July 18th at TR North High School. The pair were also inducted with Joe Martucci-former Matawan coach, and broadcasters who also coached in the Shore Conference in Bob Strangia, George Jack & Ken Turp.

Members of the 2012 Southern Football team were honored on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at the Shore Football Coaches Foundation/ US Army brunch honoring the Shore Conference Academic team as well as formally introducing the athletes that will participate in this year's All Shore Grid Iron Classic.

The Grid Iron Classic will be held at TR North in July. All Student Athletes are seniors and will be graduating in June.

Congratulations Southern Regional High School Senior Football player Nick Munafo on being named the 2012 - 2013 school year recipient on being named the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame South Jersey Chapter Scholar Athlete Award winner.

Nick was a captain for this year's Rams Squad which finished with a record of 9 and 3 and were a NJSIAA South Jersey Group 5 Finalist. Nick is the 11th Southern Football player in the program's history honored by this organization. Congratulations Nick!

Congratulations to Southern Regional Head Football Coach Chuck Donohue Sr. on being selected to the South Jersey Football Hall of Fame.

Coach Donohue Sr. is the first coach in the State of New Jersey to lead 4 high schools (St. Joseph Hammonton, Haddon Heights, Buena and Southern Regional) to the NJSIAA playoffs and SJ sectional group Championship game. Coach Donohue Sr. was honored at a banquet on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Masso’s Crystal Ballroom in Glassboro, NJ. The banquet was on the eve of the annual Adam Taliaferro All-Star Football Classic which is the annual all-star football game in South Jersey. Other inductees were:
